About St. Patrick’s Foundation

St. Patrick’s Foundation is located in Seaview Gardens and was founded in 1994 by the Late Monsignor Richard Albert. It is a non-profit community development and training organization that directly benefit residents of several inner-city communities including Seaview Gardens, Riverton City, Olympic Gardens and Waterhouse.

The mission of St. Patrick’s Foundation is to impart relevant skills and provide opportunities and care to at-risk youth and residents of low income communities, thereby making possible their social and economic advancement. The Foundation provides human resource development skills training through  three community centres, in the following areas: Woodwork, Commercial Food Preparation, Electrical Installation, Cosmetology and Customer Engagement Operations. The programmes are accredited by the Heart Trust NTA. The Foundation also operates an Early Childhood Education Centre in Riverton Meadows and St. Monica’s Home for Abandoned Elderly and Adults with HIV/AIDS in White Marl, St. Catherine.

CHANGES LIVES THROUGH REMEDIAL EDUCATION

The Foundation has a strong and successful remedial programme, which serves students as young as age twelve (12). The main focus is to improve literacy and numeracy skills and prepare  the students for the Grade Nine Achievement Test (GNAT). Once successful in GNAT, they are able to rejoin the regular high school system. Students are also able transition to any one of the skills training programmes offered by The Foundation.
